On July 2nd in Cluj-Napoca, Romania within Clusters Meet Regions event organised by European Cluster Collaboration Platform - ECCP with the support of European Commission, Innovate-EU consortium partners met to make a step forward in strengthening regional innovation and startup ecosystems across the EU.
The focus of the meeting was:
– Present the findings from each region’s Regional Innovation Report;
– Discussing actionable pathways for cross-regional collaboration;
– Exploring how regions can bridge knowledge and capability gaps in other regions.
The Innovate-EU project brings together regions with diverse innovation capacities, creating ground for learning and co-development:
Grünhof & Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum of Baden-Württemberg, Germany – Innovation Leader Region;
AgriFood Lithuania of Lithuania & Cluster IDiA, Fundación Zaragoza Ciudad del Conocimiento of Aragon, Spain - Moderate Innovators;
Latvian Food Cluster of Latvia & 
Cluster Imago-Mol and Asociatia Clusterelor din Romania of Northeast Romania - Emerging Innovators.Together, these efforts lay the foundation for a more balanced and inclusive European Innovation Area.
What’s Next?The next phase of Innovate-EU will focus on:
– Mapping interregional synergies;
– Designing pilot initiatives to test knowledge-sharing mechanisms;
– Strengthening startup support across borders.
This is just the beginning of a long-term mission to close innovation gaps and unlock Europe’s full entrepreneurial potential.
